HVI makes off-the-clock apparel for people in the high voltage trade. Button ups, polos, tees, hats, boardshorts, jerseys and more, all designed with the equipment, terminology and inside references someone in the trade will actually recognize. This isn't merch with a lineman slapped on it. Most of it is built from the ground up, some pieces take a year or more to get right, and the details are hidden in the pattern instead of shouted across the chest.
Is this lineman apparel, or is it for the whole high voltage trade?
Both. HVI started with linemen but covers every craft that keeps the grid running: substation techs, cable splicers, relay techs, operators, transmission and distribution crews, and everyone else in high voltage. If you work the trade, there's usually something on these shirts that's yours. You don't have to be a lineman specifically to find gear that fits your world.
What's new in the New Products collection?
Whatever dropped this week. HVI runs on a weekly drop cadence, new button ups, polos, tees, hats, boardshorts and FR gear, alongside limited restocks of stuff customers keep asking to bring back. Check back often. This collection changes fast on purpose.
Do I have to work in high voltage to wear HVI clothing?
No. Plenty of customers have never touched a hot stick. The designs are built to look good on their own first, so anyone can wear them. If you're in the trade, you'll just catch a few extra details other people won't.
Can I wear HVI apparel on the job?
No. HVI's everyday apparel (button ups, polos, tees, hats, boardshorts) is off the clock gear, not work wear. For anything rated to wear on site, check the HVI x Benchmark FR collection, which is built specifically for FR requirements.
How does HVI's fit run?
It depends on the product, and every product page spells it out instead of just saying "true to size." Some pieces are cut slimmer and meant to stretch (size up for a looser fit), others run looser and longer (size down for a fitted look). Check the fit notes on each product page before you order.
Do products in this collection sell out?
Regularly. Many pieces are limited runs or limited-edition colorways, and once a size is gone, there's no guarantee it comes back. Some do get restocked because customers keep asking. Some don't. If you see something you want, that's usually the signal to just buy it.
What makes HVI different from other lineman apparel or workwear brands?
HVI didn't start as a clothing company. It started as an anonymous Instagram page built to show people outside the trade what it actually takes to keep the lights on. Over a decade later, that page has grown to 700,000+ followers, almost entirely people in and around the high voltage industry. The apparel came later, after that audience started asking for it. HVI has sold 25,000+ shirts since, and every product still gets shaped by direct customer feedback: voting on designs, requesting restocks, telling us what to build next.
What's your return policy on New Products?
Eligible items can be returned or exchanged within 30 days if unworn and unwashed. Some categories are final sale, including Selby products, clearance, select HVI x Benchmark FR printed products, and custom items, so check the individual product page before you buy.
Is there free shipping?
Yes. Orders over $200 (US only) ship free, and orders over $300 qualify for a free gift.
